Hi there, I'm Ivan

I build products, and I build the teams that build them. Seventeen years of it now. I've done the hands-on parts myself — writing code, training models, running marketing — and I've led the product managers, designers and engineers who do them.

These days I'm Chief Product Officer at Coople, a marketplace for flexible work in Switzerland, where I look after product, design and IT. I like the messy stuff: making AI actually work in a product, rebuilding things that need starting over, and keeping teams small enough to own what they ship.

Product Management

Working out what to build, then helping a team go and build it. It's where the three things I care about meet: technology, design and business. These days I mostly do it through other people — hiring product managers, growing them, and clearing the process out of their way.

AI & Data Science

You can't build a good product without knowing how people actually use it. I've built and trained the models behind Coople's matching and recommendations, and I've led the AI work across the company — what goes into the product, and how the teams build. I'd rather argue with data than with job titles.

Digital Strategy

Getting a product sold is as hard as building it. I started out in digital marketing, running campaigns across Google's biggest brands in Europe with a team of 11. At Evernote I led a full website rebuild that lifted sign-ups by 40%, and an app store programme that brought in millions of installs.
